SENSE

Cindy Cindy Raymond is a two year volunteer here at SENSE. Her son Tyler attends our school and hopefully her other son, Sean, will become a student here soon.

Cindy Raymond, mother of Tyler Raymond, was a stay-at-home mum, so when her marriage ended she found herself with two boys to support and no recent work experience. Determined to turn things around she heard about SENSE's volunteer program. She has volunteered at our school for two years now since this past August. Working in various areas, Cindy has learned many skills which has helped her recently get a job in a local retail busniess.

"This is my second year volunteering with SENSE. I volunteer each Tuesday afternoon/evening. The impact of SENSE on my life has been incredible. I have always loved helping kids/adults, and I guess I thought this volunteering would be the same, just helping others. That is not how it has been with SENSE. I am the one who has been blessed. I have met not only great kids (and kids who are great but need you to see past what they sometimes present on the outside), but a group of wonderful volunteers and of course the SENSE staff."

Cindy has helped will reading in the classrooms, tending our gardens, montering our hallways, and handing our snacks as well as assissting our teachers.

"Brian and Debbie don't just "show up", they live SENSE. They both "walk the walk" and this is another blessing God has given me. My relationship with God has been strengthened by their examples. As I find out more about some of the situations some of our kids are in and face everyday, and still see smiles on their faces and excitement, I am amazed. I am not giving them near as much as they give me. I am the one who is blessed!!!"

SENSE is very lucky to have a volunteer like Cindy. We hope to grow with more individuals like herself in the years to come.
